Description

In soft strata, it is suggested to use flat-edged cutter ring. In hard strata, it requires good penetration and cutting ability of cutter ring and good wear resistance of cutter ring. It is suggested that circular-edged cutter ring be used for driving and sharp-edged cutter ring be used for driving in hard strata. To prevent excessive thrust required for shield driving and damage of hobs.

The blade width largely determines the wear resistance and penetration cutting ability of the hob. The larger the blade width, the better the wear resistance of the tool ring, but the worse the cutting ability. Conversely, the worse the wear resistance of the tool ring, the better the cutting ability. We usually use a wide blade in soft rock and a standard or narrow blade in hard rock.
